This week we are featuring an architecture firm, Merz Project, an up and coming firm based out of Phoenix, AZ. Merz Project was named by Architectural Record Magazine as a 2009 Design Vanguard Firm. The team is made up of Joe Herzog, Alison Rainey, Jonah Busick, Matt Winquist, and Chris Nieto. Their work consists of both residential and commercial architecture, interior, and urban design, and is surely a design firm to keep on your radar.

Jeanne Gang
Architect Jeanne Gang of is in the lime light this week. Gang is principal and founder of Studio Gang Architects and attained her Masters of Architecture at Harvard University. Working with architects such as Rem Koolhaas, Gang has put together a solid career of award winning projects and individual achievements. She is most famed in the Chicagoland area for her building, Aqua at Lakeshore East in downtown Chicago. This 82-story mixed use residential skyscraper is undoubtedly one of a kind with its irregularly shaped balconies giving the facade an appearance of waves.

About: Thomas Sylvia
Thomas Sylvia is the lead designer/draftsman for architectrio. He is pursuing his masters in architecture and maintains a love for design, with a focus in mid century modern. He has been influenced by the works of Richard Neutra, Al Beadle, Ralph Haver and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
Tom attended the Manchester School of Technology under Mr. Stephan Koziatek, and continued on to study design at Arizona State University in Tempe, AZ. Tom is currently an intern at the Offices of Jerome King Architecture and Planning in San Jose, CA.
His interests include sketching, traveling, exotic automobiles, and cycling to name a few. Bringing design ideas from napkin and drawing board to polished renderings for the end client is Tom's forte with architectrio. Tom's background in architecture and design, coupled with a passion to impress, helps him deliver outstanding results to architectrio's clients.

Alexander Gorlin
Alexander Gorlin of Alexander Gorlin Architects, graduated from the Yale School of Architecture. The firm produces a scale or works from private residences to master planned communities. During the 1908s, Gorlin worked with I.M Pei and in 2002, redesigned Daniel Libeskind’s loft in New York City. Gorlin and his firm have received numerous awards for their work around the globe.

Rem Koolhaas
Dutch architect, Rem Koolhaas, (born 1944) is a professor of architecture and urban design at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design. Koolhaas is the principal of the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA). Koolhaas won the Pritzker Price in 2000 and in 2008 one of Time Magazine’s World’s Most Influential People. Some of his most famous works include the CCTV-Headquarters, Beijing, China, the McCormick Tribune Campus Center at IIT, Chicago, and Porsche Towers, UAE, Dubai.

David Fisher
Dynamic architect David Fisher, founder and chairman of Dynamic Architecture Group has designed the world's first building in motion. The 80-story skyscraper is set to be build in Dubai. Fisher was named World Architect of the Year by The Developer & Builders Alliance on November 8, 2009.

Antoine Predock
This week's featured architect is Antoine Predock of Antoine Predock Architect PC. Predock (born 1936 in Lebanon, Missouri) is an American architect based out of Albuquerque, NM. Some of his famous works include the Nelson Fine Art Center at Arizona State University the San Diego Padres Ball Park and the Tang Teaching Museum and Art Gallery at Skidmore College, NY. Predock's design has been highly influenced by the New Mexico landscape. A video interview can be seen here.
